Periodic Car Service Checklist for Car Owners in Mundhwa and Magarpatta

12 September 20267 min read

Periodic car service is the routine maintenance your car needs at fixed kilometre or time intervals. It's the single most effective thing you can do to prevent breakdowns and expensive repairs. Yet most owners in Mundhwa and Magarpatta rely on the workshop to tell them what's due, with no way of checking. This article gives you a clear, printable checklist by mileage so you know exactly what should be done — and what you're paying for.

How to use this checklist

The intervals below are typical for most petrol and diesel passenger cars sold in India. Your owner's manual always takes priority, especially for turbo-petrol engines, CNG conversions and luxury cars. Where the manual gives both a distance and a time, follow whichever comes first — a car that does only 4,000 km a year still needs its oil and brake fluid changed on time.

Given the stop-go traffic on Mundhwa Road and around Magarpatta, we suggest following the 'severe conditions' schedule if your manual lists one.

Every 5,000 km or 6 months

A light check to catch problems early. Our Interim Service (from ₹999) covers this:

  • Engine oil level and condition
  • Coolant, brake fluid and washer fluid levels
  • Tyre pressure including the spare, and tread check
  • All lights, horn and wipers
  • Battery terminals and visual battery condition
  • Quick visual check under the car for leaks

Every 10,000 km or 12 months

This is the core periodic service — our General Service (₹5,555 petrol / ₹6,666 diesel) is built around it. If only the oil is due, the Quick Lube Service (₹3,333 / ₹4,444) is the lighter option.

  • Engine oil and oil filter replaced
  • Engine air filter cleaned or replaced
  • Cabin (AC) filter cleaned or replaced
  • Brakes cleaned, inspected and adjusted
  • Tyre rotation to even out wear
  • Suspension, steering and underbody inspection on the lift
  • Full multi-point inspection and road test

Every 20,000 km or 2 years

Everything in the 10,000 km service, plus:

  • Engine air filter replaced (not just cleaned)
  • Fuel filter replaced on most diesel cars
  • Brake fluid replaced — it absorbs moisture over time, reducing braking performance
  • Wheel alignment and balancing
  • Spark plugs on many petrol engines (check manual — some last much longer)

Every 40,000 km or 3–4 years

The bigger service that many owners skip — and regret later:

  • Coolant flush and refill
  • Transmission fluid check or change, especially for automatics
  • Drive belts inspected and replaced if cracked
  • Spark plugs replaced where due
  • Throttle body and injector cleaning if performance has dropped
  • Detailed suspension check — shock absorbers, bushes, links

The long-interval items owners forget

Some components have long intervals, which is exactly why they get forgotten. Missing them can cause the most expensive failures of all.

Monsoon and summer additions

Mundhwa and the low-lying parts of Magarpatta see waterlogging every monsoon. Before June, add wiper blades, underbody inspection, door-seal checks and a brake check. Before summer, add an AC performance check and a coolant level check. These don't need a separate visit — ask for them during your regular periodic service.

Keep a simple service record

Keep every invoice in a folder or photograph it on your phone. A complete record helps you plan what's due next, avoids paying twice for the same job, and noticeably improves resale value when you sell the car.
